About the Author: Joanna C. Royal (formerly Joanna C. Smith) is a Kansas native, but currently resides in North Carolina. Her other works include Pipedreams, her first published book in 2004, Second Kin, Sister Chronicles: Essential Jewels and Devotions for Our Sisters (co-written by long-time friend, Raquel Batson), Sister Chronicles, Book 2: More Essential Jewels and Devotions for our Sisters, and the long-awaited sequel to Pipedreams, Dream Life. Joanna works full-time in the legal field, and is an advocate for abused and neglected children in protective care.
